“Live your questions now, and perhaps even without knowing it, you will live along some distant day into your answers.” ~Rainer Maria Rilke
It can be hard work to live the life we most want to be living. What would your life be like if the self critical part of you were willing to step aside and allow you to see what else was possible? What if the parts of you that are stuck, overwhelmed, angry or confused were willing to take a break and let you be fully alive and engaged in the present?
What if, even in times of stress and pain, you could feel grounded and whole and connected to the world around you?
I am a psychotherapist working with Adults and Adolescents who are seeking relief from anxiety, depression, trauma, isolation, and life stress. I have a special interest in Creativity, Life Transitions, and Family Issues.
I believe in embracing our imperfection and I believe in our capacity for change.
I focus on the strengths, resilience, and unique qualities of each individual to help you achieve your goals.
I am fully trained in EMDR, an evidence based trauma therapy, and use both psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches as well as visualization, mindfulness and an Internal Family Systems informed approach to help clients find relief and make change. I will work collaboratively with you to provide supportive, respectful, confidential treatment. My interest is in helping you access your strength.
I welcome the opportunity to work with individuals from all backgrounds, races, and cultures and people of all gender identities.
I received my MSW from Smith College in 1993 and I have over twenty-five years of experience as a psychotherapist and school based clinician.
