Kathleen LaPorte, M.Ed

Kathy is a licensed elementary education teacher and just recently received her master’s degree from Bay Path University as an Education Specialist in Applied Behavior Analysis. She has provided support to children with various developmental challenges ranging from 3 to 13 years of age and has worked in an ABA/VB classroom for the past seven years together with providing in-home services to children and their families as well.

Kathy has a particular interest in bridging the gap between neurotypical children and children with special needs together with their families and communities at large and believes that much of this can be accomplished through using special-interest social groups and creating greater opportunities for connections outside of the regular school day. In addition, she has a passion for communication and helping children with developmental disabilities find their own voices through teaching them using Functional Communication Training to enable them to be their own advocates and live their lives as independently as possible.
